Dang, almost been a year! pt. 3

In other news, I joined an awesome new art community called Cartrdge and even had some of my work featured like this one! "Floating In Space Like..."

That was a promo .gif I made for my game Proto92, which I've sadly had to put on hold until I find some finiancial security as I really want it to be my first "proper" game and give it the production it deserves. I also modeled a bike for the main character as a target render.

Something I forgot to mention in the post before was, I planned on entering another gamejam last year in December for the launch of GameMakerStudio 2. I started it but unfortunately something came up in the middle of it and I had to stop. Was a shame as I really liked my idea and actually I might go back to it at some point, here are some screens.

Another update was done to my Redbubble store a new print and a few other stickers were added. Crazily, someone actually bought my MadeByJawns logo stickers :)

As I've started to get to grips with Unity and C#, temp art started annoying me so my mind has drifted back to creating decent art again, so I modeled this hulky dude as a potential concept for the main character my first mini Unity game.

I also started experimenting more with shadeless and fake lighting this year, seen in the image above. I think I am slowly building towards some kind of style I like, I don't know what yet and I am still not where I want to be but I feel progress and I hope to continue building my own look.

As I've been improving and posting more work through social media, mainly Twitter, my following has grown quite a bit too since I first started using these sites around early 2016. It has given me the chance to meet and interact with quite a few awesome people. One such opportunity happened last year when I got asked to create a ship for the upcoming game Super Pilots. I love F-Zero games so of course I agreed and made this ship based on the concept art given.

During all this time, I have made a lot of bad stuff and failed experiments that will stay hidden on my desktop forever or until I get rich and can make a book to motivate other devs :P But jokes aside, I think I am making good progress with my learning goals since my journey began back in 2014/2015 :) I hope you have enjoyed seeing my progress, see ya next time!
